In 46 games across all competitions, he netted 44 times and also provided 15 assists, forming a very productive partnership with Vinicius Jr as well.

The 34-year-old is set to win the 2022 Ballon d’Or, with the ceremony to be held today. Alongside his club achievements, he also won the Nations League with France to add to his impressive record for the season.
The format of the Ballon d’Or award has changed, with the football season from summer to summer being considered only. And Karim Benzema, by a large margin, will be the first winner of the prestigious award in its new format.
He has also agreed a new deal with Real Madrid, as his current deal runs out at the end of the 22/23 season. The extension will be of one year, until the end of the 23/24 campaign. And it will be announced following the award ceremony today.
