Microsoft has unveiled the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 along with Surface Pro 9 and the Surface Studio 2+. It weighs approximately 1.29kg and is a slim and lightweight notebook. It measures 14.5mm in thickness.
There are two screen sizes available for the Surface Laptop 5, which is powered by 12th-generation Intel processors. The features and cost of the device are detailed in the following paragraphs.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 specifications
The 13.5-inch and 15-inch screen sizes for the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 are available. The device’s PixelSense display has the following specifications: a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels, a 3:2 aspect ratio, a contrast ratio of 1300:1, and support for Dolby Vision IQ. The computer already has Windows 11 Home installed.
While the 15-inch Surface Laptop has a Core i7-1255U processor, the 13.5-inch model has an Intel Core i5-1235U/i7-1255U processor. 8 GB, 16 GB, or 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of SSD storage are standard across all configurations.
Battery life for the 13.5-inch device is up to 18 hours, compared to up to 17 hours for the bigger variant. It features a 3.5mm audio jack, one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-A port, one Surface Connect port, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0 on the connectivity front.
Other features include Surface Pen support, Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos, and two far-field microphones. Windows Hello facial sign-in is also included. The 13.5-inch model also has an Alcantara keyboard finish.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 colours and pricing
Four colors—Platinum, Sage, Black, and Sandstone—are available for the Surface Laptop 5. The price of the 13.5-inch model is $999, while the price of the 15-inch model is $1,299 at launch. Starting on October 25, it will be offered for sale in several markets.
