Gianluca Scamacca scored his first Premier League goal for West Ham United in their 2-0 win over Wolves. The Italian launched a screamer from long range to score in remarkable fashion, before Jarrod Bowen doubled their lead to earn all three points.
The 23-year-old’s goal helped West Ham United earn only their second win of the season so far. And with it, they have been able to climb out of the relegation zone, accumulating seven points in eight games.
Gianluca Scamacca proving to be a worthy investment
The former Sassuolo forward has been able to open his account with goals in the Europa Conference League, but netted his first in the English top flight yesterday. He is expected to become the focal point in attack, and eventually replace Michail Antonio up front.
Scamacca was signed for €36 million upfront plus €6 million in add-ons. It is one of the most expensive transfers that they have carried out, and is proving to be a good investment so far. The player took a while to get adjusted to life in England. But is slowly showing his capabilities at his new club.
West Ham United also agreed a 10% sell-on clause in his contract, which means that they will have to pay Sassuolo said percentage of any future fee.
