Nubia Z40S Pro goes official as the world’s lowest priced Snapdragon 8+ Gen1

Nubia has unveiled the Z40S Pro in China, the device is an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip-powered Z40 Pro flagship device. It was initially announced in H1 of 2022, the Z40S Pro on the other hand features the latest flagship from Qualcomm. The most impressive aspect of this phone is its cutting-edge pricing, with a retail price of $503 or Rs.40,108. The Realme GT 2 Master Edition is now the second most affordable device that flaunts the SD 8+ Gen1 chip that retails for $518 or Rs.41,361.

The latest offering from the brand arrives with an amazingly sleek design that has a unique rear panel. On the front, we see a punch-hole camera and super-slim bezels and in comparison to the Z40 Pro, the S variant has a much better camera setup. In terms of display, we see a 6.67″ OLED display panel with a FullHD+ resolution, a high refresh rate of 144Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a DCI-P color gamut of 100%.

For biometrics, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chip is paired with up to 18GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage. For more efficient heat distribution, it has a 3062mm2 vapor chamber unit.

In terms of optics, we see a custom 35mm, 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and OIS support. It has a 50MP ultrawide angle lens with 116-degree FOV, which allows you to capture macro shots. The lens comes with support for 8K macro video shooting. It features an 8MP periscope lens as well. On the front, we see a 16MP selfie shooter.

The Nubia Z40S Pro runs on Android 12 OS with MyOS 12 on top. In terms of battery life, we see a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. There is also another version that has a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Apart from this, we get dual-SIM support, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The device arrives in a magic green, black shade, and limited edition Ling Cage color variants. The limited edition model is a 12GB+256GB variant and it features an exclusive box with special designs on it. It retails for $696 and will go on sale along with the other color variants on the 26th of July at 10 AM.
