Xiaomi has a huge number products and they bifurcate them under ‘Mi’ and ‘Redmi’ brandings, so it’s clear that if they launch a product under ‘Mi’ branding they will surely launch the same under ‘Redmi’ branding but with a lower price.
The marketing seems strange but works for Xiaomi, so it’s new Mi Display 1A launched last month will eventually get launched under Redmi branding as well. Already the Mi Display 1A sports a 23.8-inch Full HD IPS panel with a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees along with a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
Similarly, as per leaks, the Redmi Display 1A will also feature a 23.8-inch display with 60Hz refresh rate and 178 degrees wide viewing angles. If you consider the design then you’ll notice no difference between both the monitors with almost no bezels, making it look clean and modern.
Considering Xiaomi’s previous such marketing strategies, Redmi Display 1A will borrow similar specs to the Mi display 1A but none of the other features are confirmed. This new budget monitor may be available sometime in June 2020 at around 500 Yuan (around 70$), $26 cheaper than the Mi display 1A.
All of the details will be revealed tomorrow at Xiaomi’s Redmi 10X launch event where they will be launching a number of products including the Redmi Display 1A. It will be interesting to see which features it retains from its parent monitor and how they price this new budget monitor.
