Real Madrid vs Barcelona is arguably the greatest football match in the world of club football. The rivalry between the two Spanish giants dates back a very long time. The match has a special name assigned to it “El Clasico”.
The El Clasico is set to be held outside Europe for the second time in history. The pre-season friendly match will be held in Las Vegas, United States.
El Clasico in Allegiant Stadium
The highly-anticipated match will be held in the Allegiant Stadium, the home stadium of NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. It has a capacity of 65,000 people and cost around 1.8 billion dollars. The stadium was opened in 2020 in a bid to attract more sports to ‘Sin City’ and now it will host one of the world’s most-watched matches.
The Allegiant Stadium will also host the 2024 Super Bowl and is one of the most technologically advanced stadiums. It has a retractable roof and a series of movable panels running the length of the colossus. This allows natural light to come through. It has one of the world’s most advanced lighting and sound systems.
Real Madrid will play against Barcelona on 23rd July 2022 in Las Vegas.
The El Clasico match is part of the Soccer Champions Tour. Juventus and America are among the other teams participating in the tournament apart from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
