TCL appears to have leaked numerous next-gen products at a presentation, including AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro, and Microsoft’s Xbox Series S/X consoles, all of which will be 8K capable of, according to the TV manufacturer.

TCL had a press presentation in Poland recently, revealing its aspirations for the next gaming technology that would usher us into the Gen 9.5 or 8K era. Surprisingly, TCL didn’t hesitate to name various unreleased devices from AMD, Microsoft, and Sony during the presentation.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, the Sony PlayStation 5 console, and the New Xbox Series S/X upgrade are among the products. According to the manufacturer, these items will be available in 2023-2024 and will be capable of UHD 8K 60Hz-120Hz output.

TCL might be leading us somewhere with these leaks, especially with the one with AMD

Now, whether these are TCL expectations or something they know internally is unknown, but the fact that AMD’s graphics card is particularly mentioned leads us to suspect the TCL has a hint or two about what’s coming next. AMD has not officially confirmed or disclosed any specifics about the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, but we know via leaks that it will be the first of many RDNA 3 GPUs based on the Navi 33 graphics architecture to hit the market. The GPU will be monolithic, as opposed to the chiplet design used by the top Navi 31 and Navi 32 GPUs.

There have been speculations of an 8K-capable Sony PlayStation 5 Pro and an update of the existing Microsoft Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles for quite some time now. These aren’t true next-generation consoles, but rather a spec update for existing ones, akin to the PlayStation 4 (PRO) and Xbox One mid-cycle and console refreshes (X).

A timeframe of 2023-2024 is plausible, but we can’t be certain that these are the product names that will be used. Modern features like AMD FSR 2.0 and other upscaling algorithms are expected to aid gamers in achieving 8K resolution.

As previously noted, this could all be all TCL’s expectations and nothing more, but it would be great to see some 8K hardware and a proper one available to gamers by 2023-2024.
