Ten years of failed gigs, small stages and big dreams. tvN’s upcoming drama Happy Anding has released new stills, and they show that love is as complicated as comedy. Here’s what to know before the premiere.

Happy Anding: A Coming-of-Age Story for Strugglers

Happy Anding follows three comedians who have spent a decade trying to make a name for themselves. After they meet a mysterious woman, each sets out to find a new path forward. It is a warm, relatable premise for anyone who has ever chased a dream that wouldn’t chase back.

Kim Nam Il and Lee Na Yeon: Love Tested by Dreams

Cho Hyun Chul plays Kim Nam Il, a member of the comedy trio Asura who is still waiting for his breakthrough. Moon Hee plays Lee Na Yeon, his girlfriend of 10 years. The stills show the cosy intimacy of a long relationship, from affectionate cafe gazes to playful complaints met with a gentle touch.

Life’s realities are expected to test the couple. Lee Na Yeon has supported his dream throughout, but changing circumstances may strain that devotion. This is a first romance role for both actors. Cho said he worked hard to be the best romantic couple on screen, while Moon thanked him for practising with her until she felt comfortable.

Go Eun Young and Go Ji Young: Opposites Who Need Each Other

Lee Yi Dam plays the quiet, reserved older sister, Go Eun Young. Yoon Ga Yi plays the outgoing younger sister, Go Ji Young, who approaches everyone without hesitation. Lee compares them to a dog who gets along with people and a cat who prefers being alone. Yoon says Ji Young mothers her sister but leans on her heavily when it truly matters. It’s a sibling bond that could steal hearts.
