Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile is now one of the most popular mobile game across the globe. Now it seems it will host its own eSports tournament for the gamers to prove themselves.
Activision has revealed that the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 Tournament. It will be a lengthy eSports tournament with more than $1 million in total prizes, including both cash and in-game cosmetics. The tournament will is sponsored by Sony Xperia and you must be 18 years old to enter this competition.
The online qualifiers for the tournament will start from on April 30th onwards and will run till May 24th, after which the actual tournament will begin. This free game shook the entire mobile gaming market when it was originally launched last year, it managed to get 100 million downloads in the first week of its availability. The game has made it through the eSports league like other popular games like PUBG Mobile and Supercell titles like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars which also host such eSports tournaments.
Hosting such a big tournament in this current pandemic situation will obviously engage more gamers but it will be difficult to conduct the final rounds as well as the qualifiers as most staff are now working from home and most of the countries are under lockdown.
