The Realme 9 4G will be the company’s second device with a 108MP primary sensor, the first was the Realme 8 Pro. The 8 Pro, however, had the older ISOCELL HM2, while the 9 is getting a significant upgrade with the new ISOCELL HM6 sensor.
Realme will be marketing this new camera under the name ‘ProLight’, as per Realme, the ISOCELL HM6 will use a new NonaPixel Plus layout with 3×3 binning, which when combined with other improvements will increase the sensor’s light-gathering ability by nearly 123% in comparison to the HM2.
Judging off the internal testing, Realme claims that the new camera produces brighter images with better color reproduction while shooting in low-light conditions.
The Realme 9 will also use the ‘ultra-zoom’ feature that has been integrated into the HM6 sensor for lossless zoom using the primary sensor.
Samsung is yet to officially unveil this new sensor, the Realme 9 will be the first to use it but it has yet to be announced. We can expect to hear more about it in the coming days!
