Apple will replace its existing Apple Silicon processors every 18 months, according to supply chain industry sources. In terms of the aforementioned chipsets, Apple’s M2 chipset, which is now codenamed Staten, is slated to debut in 2022. In the second half of 2022, Apple may release the 4nm M2 chip for Macs, followed by the M2 Pro in 2023.

The company, based in Cupertino, made the decision last year to employ its own Silicon processors rather than Intel chipsets, and the MacBook series released last year were among the first to use the chipset. Apple has so far released three CPUs that are based on the ARM architecture.

The Apple Chipset’s Specifications are as follows:

According to supply chain industry sources, the company plans to replace its existing silicon processors every 18 months. In terms of the aforementioned chipsets, Apple’s M2 chipset, codenamed Staten, is slated to debut in the first half of 2022. In the first half of 2023, users can expect a new M2X chipset codenamed Rhodes. M2 Pro and M2 Max processors with specialized graphics cores are also expected.

According to sources, all of it’s M2 chipsets would be produced using a 4nm process by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Furthermore, TSMC may as well employ its 3nm technology to manufacture the M3 CPU lineup, which will follow the M2 series.

The new M2 series from the tech giant is also slated to be available on six different smartphones. The M2 chipset is expected to be used in the MacBook, while the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets are possible for the MacBook Pro series.

The company might debut the iMac series with M2 processors, and the iMac Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, in a similar method. Furthermore, an M2 chipset may be used in the Mac Mini, while M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs might be found in the Mac Pro series.

Concluding Words:

However, there are a few models that need to be upgraded right now. The top-end Mac mini, 27-inch iMac, and Mac Pro are the only Intel-powered Macs in Apple’s lineup right now.

It’s possible that Apple will replace these with the M2 chip. If that happens, Apple will be able to deliver on its promise of using Apple Silicon in all of its devices. In the next year, the M2X/ M2 Pro processor will only be available as an update for Apple products.
