We’ve recently acquired some fresh information about the forthcoming RTX 3050 series. The latest information comes from the same source that alerted us about the RTX 2060 12GB weeks before any other reports surfaced.
At this moment, the RTX 3050 rumors are very old. AIBs were told about this SKU in January of this year, however, the series was shelved until October for reasons only known to NVIDIA. This is when Kopite7Kimi revealed fresh details on the RTX 3050 series. He claims that the RTX 3050 Ti will have a GA106-150 GPU, while the RTX 3050 non-Ti would have a GA107-350 GPU. According to our source, there is a little change to those specifications.
The GA106-150 GPU will be found in a graphics card known internally as PG190 SKU 70. Although it was initially thought to be the RTX 3050 Ti, our source now believes it is the non-Ti variant. We were also told that could have 8GB of RAM, but we couldn’t confirm this with additional sources, therefore it’s indicated as ‘to be confirmed in the charts below.
The GeForce RTX 3050 is expected to perform better than the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, but not as well as the RTX 2060 12GB, which will be released next month. This suggests that the card will compete with the speculated RX 6500XT, which is set to ship in the first quarter of 2022, rather than the Radeon RX 6600 series. In addition, the Intel Arc A128 (rumored SKU name) is expected to arrive later.
