Amazon Prime has recruited Thierry Henry and Patrice Evra to join their Premier League broadcast team. The streaming giant will be showing Premier League games during Autumn and winter, and will feature all fixtures on the first weekend of December and also on Boxing Day.
Prime has also started to make a documentary for former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Wayne Rooney. The documentary will be released in 2022 and will be called ‘Rooney’.
‘I wanted it to be honest and touch on everything that has happened in my life. I want people to see me and see my family for who we are and not what has been portrayed,’ said Rooney about the documentary to be released in the early stages of next year.
The number of viewers that are watching the games on Prime are increasing every year. ‘We want to bring exciting, inspiring, and diverse stories from the world of sport to Prime members,’ said Chris Bird, UK MD at Prime Video. ‘We know that our customers love seeing the stories behind the sports and the teams, so we’re delighted to be able to offer such a wide range of compelling films and series.’
The star-studded lineup of pundits recruited by the streaming giants will surely play a big part in attracting more people to watch the coverage of the English league. Prime will show Manchester United take on Arsenal and a Merseyside derby that will be showcased, in two big fixtures of the winter.
