Mandaadi Box Office Day 6: Soori’s Sports Drama Sails Past Rs 57 Crore With Steady Growth

While several new releases this season have struggled to hold their opening momentum, Mandaadi is doing exactly the opposite. Soori and Suhas’s sports action drama continues its strong theatrical run, adding Rs 6 crore on Tuesday and pushing its six-day total to an impressive Rs 57 crore gross in India.

Mandaadi : Day-Wise Collection Breakdown

A Rare Case of Growing, Not Fading

What makes Mandaadi’s run stand out is its trajectory: instead of the usual sharp drop after opening weekend, collections actually climbed through Days 3 and 4 before settling into a healthy weekday pace. That kind of upward curve almost always points to strong word of mouth doing the heavy lifting — audiences are actively recommending it, not just showing up out of initial curiosity.

With six days of consistently solid numbers behind it, the film has firmly established itself as a genuine box office hit rather than a one-weekend wonder.

The Story Behind Mandaadi

The film follows Muthukaali, a once-celebrated traditional sailboat racer who now leads a quiet life as a lifeguard in Chennai after years away from his coastal hometown. His path back to racing opens up when a young local competitor, Maari, convinces him to train an all-local crew to take on Sattapuli — Muthukaali’s former friend turned bitter rival — and his dominant team, the Tsunami Riders.

As the festival boat race approaches, Muthukaali is forced to confront the past that drove him away in the first place, all while rediscovering his competitive edge. It’s a redemption arc set against the backdrop of a sport deeply rooted in coastal Tamil culture, giving the film a distinct regional flavor beyond the usual sports-drama formula.

The film also features Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Krish Hassan, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindra Vijay, and Bala Saravanan in supporting roles, and is directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi.

What’s Next for Mandaadi?

With momentum still intact after nearly a week in theatres, Mandaadi looks well positioned to keep climbing steadily rather than fading out — a welcome sign for a film that’s already emerged as a clear box office success.
