Apple’s next iPhone, said to be called the iPhone 13 , could see an updated design, longer battery life and an increased refresh rate, among other things. But, the latest buzz focuses on the new iPhone’s possible camera upgrades. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 13 could be getting at least three major new camera and video features. Gurman says that these updates include a new filter system for better pictures, a way to take higher quality video called ProRes, and a video version of Portrait Mode.
Apple officially released the Portrait mode(for photos) feature back in 2016 with the iPhone 7 series. Now, it is touted that the iPhone 13 series will bring this feature to videos. The Portrait mode for videos will work similarly to photos where the depth sensor will produce a blur effect for the background while only focusing on the subject.

According to Bloomberg, Apple will introduce Portrait mode video on the next iPhone. A new ProRes video-recording feature will let iPhone users capture HD or 4K clips in a higher-quality format that gives editors more control during post-production.
Apple will also add a new filter-like system that improves the look and colours of photos. It states that users will be able to choose from several styles to apply to their photos, including one for showing colours at either a warmer or cooler temperature while keeping whites neutral.
The most noticeable upgrade is going to be around the display. While the screen size is likely to remain the same as the iPhone 12 series, the notch is getting smaller. Apple will move the earpiece to the top bezel to reduce the size of the notch. It will continue to offer Face ID tech. Apple is also rumoured to introduce a 120Hz LTPO display on the Pro models.
Other specs include a faster A15 Bionic chip and up to 512GB of internal storage on the Pro models. Previous reports suggested that the new iPhones will get a bigger battery. The top-end 13 Pro Max will feature a 4,352 mAh battery. The 13 Pro and the vanilla iPhone 13 will have a 3,095 mAh battery, which is bigger than the 2,815 mAh cell found on the current iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models. The 13 mini is rumoured to pack a 2,406mAh battery. Apple is also said to introduce a larger wireless charging coil that could result in faster wireless charging support.
