What’s New This Season?

Two Fresh Franchises

Aligarh Tigers and Kanpur Warriors join eight returning teams including Lucknow Lions, Yamuna Yoddha, Noida Ninja, Kashi Kings, and Avadh Ramdoot. The expansion signals UPKL’s growing footprint across Uttar Pradesh’s kabaddi heartland.

Four-Tier Player System

Players are categorized by experience with fixed base prices: Category A (₹1 lakh), B (₹60,000), C (₹40,000), and D (₹25,000). Teams must build balanced squads with minimum picks from each tier—3 from A, 4 each from B and C, and 3 from D.

Technology-Driven Transparency

CricBattle, the official auction partner, brings live platform precision to ensure fair, efficient bidding. This marks CricBattle’s expansion beyond cricket into regional sports leagues.

New Tagline, Bigger Vision

UPKL‘s Season 2 rallying cry—“Apna Bharat, Apna Khel — Khel Raha Hai Mera Pradesh”—emphasizes kabaddi’s cultural roots and regional pride. The league, sanctioned by the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi Association, aims to professionalize the sport through sustainable structures.

“With ten teams and a larger talent base this season, the event promises deeper, more competitive structure,” said Sambhav Jain, Founder of SJ Uplift Kabaddi.

Season 2 Timeline

The action kicks off December 25, 2025, with approximately 64 matches hosted in Noida. The expanded format gives more athletes visibility while strengthening kabaddi’s grassroots development across India’s most populous state.
