Fauzi movie: Prabhas’ Period Action Epic Gets New Release

Prabhas’ Fauzi movie, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is a period action drama featuring Imanvi and Anupam Kher. Check the latest release date, cast, story and crew details.

Fauzi: Prabhas Returns as a Rebel Soldier

Prabhas is gearing up for another major pan-India release with Fauzi, an ambitious period action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The film has been generating strong anticipation because of its unusual historical backdrop, large-scale production and the collaboration between the Baahubali star and the filmmaker behind Sita Ramam.

The film stars Prabhas in the lead role, alongside newcomer Imanvi, veteran actor Anupam Kher and several other prominent performers. Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar, the project is being backed by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films.

The film’s latest glimpse, titled “File No. 25,” was released around Prabhas’ birthday and offered audiences a closer look at the period world and his character. The glimpse presents Prabhas as a rebel soldier connected to the Azad Hind Fauj and places the story against the backdrop of World War II.

Fauzi Release Date: March 19, 2027

The release timeline for Fauzi has changed since its earlier announcement. The film was originally scheduled to reach theatres on December 3, 2026, but the makers later postponed the release.

The latest announcement confirms that Fauzi will now arrive worldwide on March 19, 2027. The new date was announced alongside the October 2026 glimpse, giving fans a clearer idea of when they can expect the film in theatres.

TechnoSports has previously covered the film’s Fauzi glimpse and new March 19, 2027 release date, while earlier coverage also looked at the film’s first-look poster.

What Is Fauzi About?

Fauzi is being presented as a period action and spy drama set against the backdrop of the 1940s. The recently released footage expands the film’s historical-fiction setting, with the story involving the struggle against British rule and the Azad Hind Fauj.

The teaser reportedly begins with historical figures including Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler, before introducing Prabhas’ fictional character. Importantly, the makers have clarified that the movie is a work of creative historical fiction, meaning certain conversations, interactions and incidents involving historical personalities have been dramatised for the story.

This distinction is particularly important because the film uses real historical figures while creating a fictional narrative around its central protagonist.

Fauzi Cast and Crew

Along with Prabhas and Imanvi, the film features several experienced actors, including Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada.

Hanu Raghavapudi has written and directed the film, while Vishal Chandrashekhar is responsible for the music. Sudeep Chatterjee serves as the director of photography, with Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao handling the editing.

The film is produced under Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films, with Gulshan Kumar presenting the project under the T-Series banner.

Why Fauzi Is Generating Buzz

The combination of Prabhas’ massive pan-India popularity and Hanu Raghavapudi’s reputation for emotionally driven storytelling has made Fauzi one of the most closely watched upcoming Indian films.

The period setting also gives Prabhas an opportunity to appear in a different avatar from his recent futuristic, action and contemporary roles.

TechnoSports previously reported on Prabhas’ Fauzi release delay, while its latest Fauzi glimpse coverage explores the newly revealed character and period setting.

With the film now scheduled for March 19, 2027, expectations are building for the full trailer and additional promotional material.
