Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, and it’s packed. With dozens of heroes in the mix, the headline names grab all the attention. But a handful of supporting characters could quietly be among the strongest in the movie. Here’s the case for each.
For film background, see Avengers: Doomsday on Wikipedia.

| Ghost | Hannah John-Kamen | Intangibility | High |
The threat levels are my own editorial rankings, not official ones.

1. Franklin Richards
In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Galactus wanted baby Franklin because of the Power Cosmic inside him. The film proved him right when the child revived a fallen Sue Storm with a touch. A post-credits scene then showed Doctor Doom kneeling before the boy with his mask in hand.
In the comics, Franklin can warp reality, once built a pocket universe to protect Earth’s heroes and helped rebuild the Multiverse after Secret Wars. If the movie borrows even a bit of that, a small kid could be the most powerful being on screen.
2. Love
Love debuted in Thor: Love and Thunder as the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, brought back by Eternity’s wish. She came back changed, firing energy beams from her eyes in her first fight. She also wields Stormbreaker, the axe that can summon the Bifrost, and spent time adventuring with Thor himself. That’s cosmic power with expert training.
3. Namora
Namora is more than Namor’s henchwoman. In the comics she shares his hybrid physiology, giving her comparable strength, and she’s a core member of the Agents of Atlas. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever showed her tearing through Wakandan soldiers and helping flood a royal warship. The fourth trailer reportedly confirms her return alongside Talokan.
4. Cassie Lang
Don’t write her off as Ant-Man’s kid. Quantumania showed she’d built her own size-changing suit and a Quantum Realm beacon, and she held her own against Kang’s soldiers. In the comics, as Stature, she grows to skyscraper height with Giant-Man-level strength and has faced both Doom and Kang.

5. Nightcrawler
Alan Cumming returns as Kurt Wagner for the first time since 2003. He’s the X-Men’s gentle heart, but X2 showed his darker side when a brainwashed Nightcrawler cut through the Secret Service and nearly reached the President. Teleportation makes distance and walls irrelevant, and in the comics he’s also an elite swordsman.
6. Ghost
Ava Starr is back after Thunderbolts, which ended with her team rebranded as the New Avengers. In her debut she repeatedly overpowered Ant-Man and the Wasp. Her intangibility makes conventional attacks nearly useless, and she brings assassin training and stabilized quantum energy.
What to Watch For?
- Franklin’s role. Doom’s interest in him is the biggest unanswered question.
- Talokan’s involvement. Namora’s return suggests a larger underwater presence.
- Nightcrawler’s first fight. It could be a showstopper.
