Doctor Doom’s Third Costume Revealed: What “Lord Doom” Means for Avengers: Doomsday

Doctor Doom’s Costumes: Overview

Meet “Lord Doom”

IGN unveiled the Funko range, and one figure is labeled Lord Doom instead of Doctor Doom. That’s the clue to the third outfit.

The look appears closer to a 20th-century European monarch or general than a typical supervillain. The Latverian flag sits on the chest, and there’s little heavy armor or sturdy boots. The Direct suggests this may be Doom’s everyday wear while ruling Latveria, or even a version shown in flashbacks to his past.

How the Three Suits Compare?

The first suit, the one seen in trailers and posters, is loaded with armor plating and chainmail, so it may simply be his battle gear. The second, shown at D23, shares the same mask as the third. The key changes: silver elements become gold, and he wears grey trousers and smart black shoes.

Why It Matters?

Gold has long signaled Doom’s royal ambitions. In the comics, he rises to God Emperor Doom in the Secret Wars storyline after building Battleworld from the multiverse’s remnants. A regal look now could hint at that path. Funko is also releasing a Doomstadt Tower set, possibly the MCU’s version of Castle Doom.

Some fans expect the final battle to land in Latveria, giving Doom a home-turf advantage. That’s speculation, not confirmed. The name “Lord Doom” has appeared before in the comics, in a post-apocalyptic universe where he ruled a captured chunk of America.
