The Man Without Fear is going back to his roots. According to The Direct, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, set for March 2027 on Disney+, is making a big shift: its confirmed returning characters come almost entirely from Marvel’s old Netflix shows.
What’s Changing?
The first two seasons tied Hell’s Kitchen to the wider MCU with familiar faces from other Disney+ projects. Season 3 is set to do the opposite. No MCU characters from outside the NetflixVerse or Born Again itself have been confirmed so far.

The Crossover History
Season 1 featured Jack Duquesne from Hawkeye, whose role mainly widened Wilson Fisk’s circle of elites. It also featured Yusuf Khan, Kamala’s father from Ms. Marvel and The Marvels, who teamed up with Matt Murdock during a bank heist. That was the first time an MCU movie character had shown up in a Disney+ series. In Season 2, Duquesne returned as more than a cameo, joining Daredevil in a prison breakout from the Anti-Vigilante Task Force’s secure facility.
Why the Shift Makes Sense?
The Direct’s analysis argues that the show works best when threats stay political, personal and grounded. Keeping it away from gods, sorcerers and mutants helps preserve its TV-MA tone and avoids powerful heroes who could solve problems too quickly. The writer also suggests the show lost some of its charm when it leaned heavily on MCU connections. These are the outlet’s views, not announced Marvel plans.
A Two-Way Street
Interestingly, the connection is now flowing in the other direction. In July 2026, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher appeared in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, playing a significant role alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. That suggests the street-level world can visit the big movies without crossovers inside its own show.
What Isn’t Clear Yet?
It’s too early to say whether Season 3 permanently closes the door on MCU cameos. The report only says none are confirmed, not that they are ruled out.
