Marvel loves a good villain, but a villain couple? That’s new. VisionQuest, the final chapter of the WandaVision trilogy, premieres October 14 on Disney+ and brings back Ultron with a bride by his side.

VisionQuest: The Villain Couple

Detail	Info
Show	VisionQuest (Disney+)
Premiere	October 14
Returning villain	Ultron (James Spader)
New villain	Jocasta (T’Nia Miller)
Why it’s historic	First established villain paired with a brand-new villain spouse

The Rule Marvel Just Broke

Since 2008, the MCU hasn’t brought back an established villain while introducing a new villain who is their spouse. VisionQuest does exactly that. Ultron returns to live action for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Jocasta arrives to stand beside him.

The closest precedents fall short. Wilson and Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again were both already established. In Agatha All Along, Agatha and Rio Vidal were a couple, but they fought each other rather than teaming up.

For background on the character, see Ultron on Wikipedia.

Who Is Jocasta, Really?

In the comics, Ultron built Jocasta as his bride in 1977’s The Avengers #162, modelling her mind on Janet van Dyne’s. She later rebelled and helped the Avengers defeat him.

The MCU version looks different. Footage shows her with glowing red eyes, metallic facial lines and a forehead jewel echoing Vision’s design. She even fights Paul Bettany’s Vision. Her casting description called her “cunning and powerful,” and driven by revenge, so she’s no hero yet, though a betrayal of Ultron isn’t impossible.

Marvel’s Other Villain Partners

Here’s a quick refresher before the premiere:

Duo	Where They Appeared
Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive	Avengers: Infinity War
Loki and Sylvie	Loki
Wilson and Vanessa Fisk	Daredevil: Born Again
Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal	Agatha All Along
