Xiaomi is looking to take their Smart TV to one of the best on the markets with the Xiaomi Mi TV 6. The concept of TVs featuring built-in cameras has been around for a while, Xiaomi is looking to make it a staple in all its future TVs. Built-in cameras in TVs allow for video calling and gesture control along with body recognition.
Fellow competitors Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei are the brands offering TVs with built-in cameras. However, Xiaomi will be the only one offering a TV with dual-cameras when it will release its next-gen smart TV, the Mi TV 6.
Xiaomi has been teasing the TV by revealing the key features as we near the launch date. Today it revealed that the Smart TV will feature a 48MP dual-camera setup, a first for any TV.
Xiaomi also mentions that the TV will have a new interactive mode that will take advantage of the additional camera sensor, while they did not mention which apps, in particular, will utilize this, it would be safe to assume gaming and fitness apps will be among them.
The Mi TV 6 will be a really good flagship smart TV, so far we know that it will feature a 4.2.2 surround sound system with spatial audio, 100W built in-speakers, Wi-Fi 6, two HDM 2.1 ports, AMD FreeSync Premium for ultra-low latency while gaming, and a “Designed For Xbox” certification.
Xiaomi also confirmed that the TV will use QLED Quantum Dot technology for its display and will also have Dolby Vision IQ, a feature that will allow the TV to automatically adjust its brightness.
The Mi TV 6 is scheduled to launch on the 28th of June in China, not much is known regarding the release of the TV in other markets.
