Price and preorder in Vietnam
Prices in Vietnam start at about $437 for the 8GB + 256GB version and $532 for 12GB + 512GB. First-time buyer coupons bring those down to about $313 and $387. Preorders include free Redmi Buds 6 Play earbuds while supplies last. Prices elsewhere are undisclosed.
Is it a rebrand of the Xiaomi 17?
A popular post on X claims the X8s is a rebranded Xiaomi 17 with a changed chipset and main camera, because the Xiaomi 17 did not sell well globally. That is the poster’s opinion and not confirmed by Xiaomi. The same post lists a 50MP 2.5x telephoto camera, which does not match the spec sheet we reviewed, so treat the camera details in that post with caution.
Earlier certification listings also pointed to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and 12GB RAM, per 91mobiles. Read about Poco and our POCO coverage.
Should Indian buyers wait?
There is no India launch date yet. Wait for Xiaomi’s official announcement before comparing prices with rivals such as the Redmi and Realme midrange lineups.
What Is Not Confirmed
- The Xiaomi 17 rebrand claim and the telephoto camera in the social post are not confirmed.
- Global and India launch dates and prices are not announced.
