Netflix Just Dropped New Titles This Week — Here’s Everything Worth Your Time

September has barely started, and Netflix is already flexing hard. Between September 1st and 5th, 2026, the platform quietly unloaded 109 new titles — 95 movies and 14 series — turning your watchlist into an overwhelming buffet. Grab your remote; we’ve done the sorting for you.

The Week’s Three Standout Releases

The Gentlemen (Season 2) is the headline act. Guy Ritchie’s stylish crime caper returns with Eddie Horniman (Theo James) now knee-deep in the aristocratic weed empire he inherited — and with more money comes messier enemies, sharper dialogue, and classic Ritchie chaos.

Smile 2 (2024) brings the scares early this year. Naomi Scott stars as a pop star whose world tour unravels into a waking nightmare after a sinister, smiling entity starts hunting her down. It’s jump-scare cinema at its most relentless.

Untold: Raygun — Breaking Badly rounds things out with a documentary that’s equal parts hilarious and thoughtful, unpacking how Australian breakdancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn became a global meme after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

What’s Actually Netflix Worth Streaming

This is just a taste — the full drop spans everything from Alien and Scarface to The Prince of Egypt and Bollywood’s Dhamaal 4, meaning there’s genuinely something for every mood this weekend.

What’s Topping the Charts Right Now

Netflix’s own Top 10 tells a different story than the new arrivals — audiences are gravitating toward fresh psychological thrillers over nostalgia picks.

Movies: The Whisper Man leads at #1, followed by the Danish thriller The Secret Woman and The Angry Birds Movie 2 holding strong in the family slot. Documentaries are having a real moment too, with Turning Point: Generation 9/11 and two Untold volumes cracking the top 10.

TV Series: Death of the Pastor’s Wife dethroned everything to grab #1, with Beauty in Black (Season 3) close behind. Interestingly, The Gentlemen Season 2 debuted at #10 — expect it to climb fast as more fans realize it’s back.

If you enjoy tracking these weekly shake-ups, our own breakdown of last week’s Netflix drop, including a GTA VI exclusive and a De Niro-led thriller, is worth a look for context on how quickly these charts move.

Why So Many Titles at Once?

This mega-drop isn’t random. Netflix traditionally clears out licensing deals and rolls out fresh acquisitions right at the start of a new month, which is why September 1st alone accounted for a huge chunk of the haul before this weekly roundup even began. It’s a pattern streaming fans can set their calendars by — big swings early in the month, smaller top-ups as the weeks progress.

For those craving more background on breakdance’s unlikely path to Olympic sport status — the very subject of the Raygun documentary — Wikipedia’s entry on breaking (breakdancing) offers solid additional context on how it became an official 2024 Games event.

Conclusion

Whether you’re chasing prestige crime drama, classic horror, disaster-movie nostalgia, or a genuinely funny sports documentary, this week’s Netflix drop has layered options rather than one obvious pick. Start with The Gentlemen Season 2 if you want plot, Smile 2 if you want scares, and Raygun if you just want a laugh with substance.
