Netflix is closing out August with a bang. From an exclusive gaming reveal to a chilling crime thriller and a heartwarming sitcom return, this week’s lineup has something for every kind of viewer. Here’s your complete, no-fluff breakdown of what’s dropping between August 24 and 30, 2026.

The Big Highlight: GTA VI Gets Its Netflix Moment

Gamers, mark your calendars. Netflix is set to exclusively premiere an extended promotional look at Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday, ahead of the game’s November release. Rockstar Games’ next entry in the legendary franchise has been one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history, and fans have already been buzzing over unauthorized leaks online. This will be the first polished, official preview — a smart crossover move that shows how streaming and gaming worlds keep colliding, something we cover often in our gaming and entertainment crossover stories on Technosports. Four Shows Worth Clearing Your Schedule For

The Whisper Man (Friday) — A gritty crime thriller from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO banner, starring Adam Scott as a widowed writer whose son is abducted. He teams up with his estranged detective father, played by Robert De Niro, to crack a case tied to a decades-old serial killer. Tense, emotional, and packed with twists.

Revival Season 1 (Monday) — Based on the acclaimed comic series, this supernatural horror-noir imagines a small Wisconsin town where the recently dead suddenly come back to life — looking and acting completely normal. It’s less zombie apocalypse, more unsettling mystery about what happens when death doesn’t stick.

The Airport Chaplain Season 1 (Wednesday) — Hugo Weaving stars as an unconventional airport chaplain who bends the rules to help travelers in crisis, clashing with a by-the-book terminal manager played by Shabana Azeez. It’s a heartfelt, character-driven Australian drama rolling out weekly.

Leanne Season 2 (Thursday) — Comedian Leanne Morgan and TV veteran Chuck Lorre return with their feel-good multi-cam sitcom, complete with Southern charm and a special guest appearance from Tyne Daly alongside her real-life brother Tim Daly.
