Missed the big screen rush this month? No worries — South films OTT slate has your weekend covered. From Thalapathy Vijay’s emotional swansong to a small-town rom-com with a twist, here’s everything landing on streaming platforms this week.

This Week’s South Films OTT Lineup

1. Jana Nayagan — The Final Bow

Billed as Thalapathy Vijay’s last film before he steps away from acting to focus full-time on politics, Jana Nayagan carries enormous emotional weight for fans. Directed by H. Vinoth, it follows Vetri Kondan, a former convict who raises a young girl, Viji, hoping she’ll one day join the defence forces. Their quiet life unravels when Viji unknowingly gets entangled in a covert operation tied to Vetri’s own murky past. Backed by a stacked cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Priyamani, the film streams on ZEE5 from August 21.

2. Envazhi Thanivazhi — A Middle-Class Struggle

This Malayalam thriller drama centers on Rinto, an educated yet jobless young man buckling under financial pressure and family expectations. Desperate for income, he gets drawn into shady visa-related dealings, pulling himself and his loved ones deeper into trouble. It’s a grounded, relatable story about resilience, and it’s already streaming on Hungama OTT.

3. Pyaar Prema Kalyanam — Love, Reimagined

A refreshing take on marital tradition, this Tamil rom-com follows Pavi, a social media influencer who refuses to leave her family home post-marriage. Her husband Elan instead moves in as a live-in son-in-law, triggering a string of hilarious culture clashes. Beneath the comedy lies a sweet message about redefining what marriage should look like on your own terms. Catch it on Netflix from August 21.

4. Mister Middle Class — Faith Meets Fortune

Telugu comedy-drama Mister Middle Class follows Venkata Ramana, an ordinary family man crushed by debt after a failed restaurant venture. At his lowest point, a divine intervention offers him a way out — but comic mishaps repeatedly derail his fortune. It’s an entertaining reminder that perseverance and family matter more than shortcuts to success. Stream it on Aha Video starting August 19.

5. Chennai Love Story — Love Beyond Loss

This emotional Telugu drama follows Nivedita, who moves to Chennai after a painful breakup and finds unexpected joy with aspiring filmmaker Steven. Just as their love story blossoms into marriage, tragedy strikes — but the story doesn’t end there. What follows is a moving tale of grief, healing, and second chances. It premieres on SonyLIV from August 21.
