Overacting: Overview

What’s the Story?

Winai, played by Teng Therdtherng, is a retired top cop whose memory drifts back to his glory days. He believes he’s ready to chase his old arch-nemesis again. His struggling actress daughter can’t let that happen, so she and her gang build elaborate, over-the-top “missions” that feel real enough to keep him busy and safe.

It’s a funny, warm premise about family, aging and the lengths we go to protect the people we love. An actress directing fake action scenes is a perfect setup for chaos.

Who’s Behind the Camera and On Screen?

Tui Preuksa Amaruji writes and directs. Earlier work includes the dramas The Tipsy Mystery and Dear My Secretary. Bow Maylada Susri is already familiar to Netflix viewers from My Boo and its sequel. Teng Therdtherng and Kong Huayrai make their Netflix debuts here, which adds some fresh energy.

Should You Add It to Your Watchlist?

If you like light, feel-good comedy with a dose of action, yes. It’s the kind of film you can put on after a long day. Want more weekend ideas? Check our latest streaming and tech guides and plan your November binge early.
