Lucas Vazquez has now signed a new contract which keeps him at the Spanish capital till June 30, 2024.
Lucas Vazquez is a product of the club’s youth system, rising through the ranks since joining Real Madrid at the age of 16 back in 2007 and has been part of the club.
In 240 appearances for the Real Madrid first team, Lucas has scored 26 goals and provided 54 assists summing up to 80 G/A contributions at a rate of 0.30 G/A per match.
Last season in the absence of first choice right-backs Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola due to injuries, Lucas Vazquez stepped up to the role and has impressed the fans with his performances in the 2020/21 season.

Although the injury turned out to be beneficial in the contract negotiation earlier, their offers were far apart from the player’s expectation; when interest from FC Bayern and Italy emerged, Real Madrid stepped up the chase upped the ante.
When Lucas found Real Madrid’s offer as a show of faith in him, he shortly signed the contract.
Post signing his contract he stated “My dream continues on here, which is my home, and something that I feel is very much part of me. You always dream of big things, but it’s difficult to then go on and achieve them.”
“I’m really happy to have renewed my contract and to enjoying being a Real Madrid player until 2024. I’m a club player who has grown up with Real Madrid’s values and this makes my family and I really happy. It makes me massively proud and it’s a big responsibility.”
And ended the interview saying “I’m so grateful to Real Madrid for everything.”
