EA Sports FC 27 Editions Explained: Which One Should You Actually Buy?

With EA Sports FC 27 officially unveiled, football gamers now face the familiar pre-order dilemma: Standard, Ultimate, or Ultimate Plus? Each tier brings a different mix of perks, price tags and Ultimate Team value, so here’s a breakdown to help you decide before checkout.

EA Sports FC 27: The Three Editions at a Glance

Standard Edition — The Budget-Friendly Entry Point

At £69.99, Standard Edition covers the essentials: the base game on PS4 and PS5, a 92+ OVR Icon carried over from FC 26, career mode pre-order challenges, and a handful of Icons and Heroes for Manager Career. It’s a solid pick for players who mainly enjoy Career Mode or casual online matches without heavy Ultimate Team investment.

Ultimate Edition — The Sweet Spot for Most Players

For £99.99, Ultimate Edition adds up to 7 days of early access, an FC 27 85+ Icon, a Player Evo slot, and a full Season 1 Premium Pass, along with immediate FC 26 content carryover. This tier strikes the best balance between value and content for players who want a head start without going all-in financially.

Ultimate Plus — Built for Ultimate Team Grinders

At £139.99, Ultimate Plus is aimed squarely at dedicated FUT players. Five full seasons of Premium Passes, 10,000 FC Points spread over five months, an additional Player Evo slot, and a Hall of FUT Player Pick make this edition worthwhile primarily for those who play Ultimate Team extensively throughout the year.

Which One Should You Choose?

If you’re a Career Mode or casual player, Standard offers everything you need. If you play Ultimate Team regularly but don’t want to overspend, Ultimate Edition is the smartest middle ground. Only committed FUT grinders chasing maximum long-term value should stretch to Ultimate Plus. Full edition details and pre-orders are available on the official EA Sports FC website.
