Long-time fans know the drill by now: Heartland never arrives on Netflix the same day it airs. If you’re wondering when the Bartlett-Fleming family’s next chapters land in your region, here’s the real, no-guesswork timeline.
Season 19: Where Things Actually Stand
Season 19 already wrapped its 10-episode Canadian run on CBC between October and December 2025. The new season pushes Amy’s relationship with Nathan Pryce further while her professional reputation takes a hit, Jack clashes with a green new ranch hand named Dex, and Lou faces a fresh threat to the family’s legacy.
International Netflix subscribers didn’t wait long — season 19 landed on international Netflix back in March 2026. The US, however, is a different story entirely.
Why US Fans Wait So Much Longer
Netflix doesn’t hold first-run US rights. UPtv (Up Faith and Family) does, and it premiered season 19 domestically starting March 19, 2026. Because that exclusivity window runs about a year, Netflix US likely won’t get season 19 until early-to-mid 2027. The good news: Netflix’s rights deal runs through at least September 2028, so there’s no removal scare on the horizon.
| Region | Season 19 Netflix Status |
|---|---|
| Canada (CBC) | Aired Oct–Dec 2025 |
| International Netflix | Live since March 2026 |
| US (UPtv first) | Premiered March 19, 2026 |
| US Netflix | Expected early-mid 2027 |
What About Season 20?
It’s official: Season 20 began filming May 12, 2026 in Calgary, running through August 30, with a Fall 2026 premiere on CBC and CBC Gem. Following the same pattern, expect an early-to-mid 2027 international Netflix debut, and a 2028 US arrival after UPtv’s exclusivity ends. Unconfirmed fan rumors suggest Season 20 could be the show’s finale — nothing’s certain yet, but it would cap an extraordinary run.
