Every ending deserves the right final touches, and Thalapathy Vijay’s swansong Jana Nayagan just got one more tweak before hitting theatres. As the superstar prepares to close out his Tamil cinema career, the film’s latest update has fans buzzing all over again.

What Changed

According to the CBFC website, Jana Nayagan has been recertified with 24 additional seconds of footage, pushing its runtime from 183.11 minutes to 183.51 minutes. While the makers haven’t officially confirmed it, reports suggest the added footage could relate to changes in Vijay’s title card — something already hinted at in the film’s latest poster.

What the Film Is About

Jana Nayagan follows Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, a former official raising his adopted daughter Viji to be strong and independent despite her fear of violence, encouraging her to join the military. As a major national threat emerges, Vetri Kondan is drawn into the crisis while also confronting a deeply personal vendetta tied to those responsible.

The film features a stacked cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Priyamani, with directors Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj reportedly making cameo appearances.

The End of an Era

This marks Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before he steps away from acting to focus on his political career. Tamil cinema has seen several major stars transition into politics over the decades, a pattern that continues to shape the industry’s cultural influence (Wikipedia).
