Vijay’s Son Just Revealed His Real Debut Gift, and It Wasn’t Money

Star kids usually get a hyped intro, a big-budget push, and a famous parent leading promotions. Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, is skipping that entire script for his directorial debut Sigma — and at a recent pre-release event, he explained exactly why.

Vijay’s Son: Overview

The “Gift” Wasn’t What Fans Expected

Asked what his father had given him ahead of his big debut, Jason Sanjay pointed to the cheering fans in the crowd and simply said, “All of them, obviously.” No headline-grabbing check, no starry favor — just an acknowledgment that Vijay’s massive fanbase itself is the biggest asset he’s inherited.

Why Vijay Is Staying Out of the Promotions

Sanjay was direct about keeping his father off the marketing trail: he wants Sigma’s promotions to be about the film, not about Thalapathy Vijay’s star power overlapping with it. It’s a deliberate move to let the project stand on its own rather than ride purely on his father’s name.

What Sigma Is Actually About

Sigma follows a “lone wolf” protagonist pushing back against societal expectations while chasing hidden treasure through a world of high-stakes heists. Originally slated for a July 31, 2026 release, the film was pushed to October 2, 2026, and initially looked set to clash with the theatrical re-release of Vijay and Trisha Krishnan’s Thirupaachi — though that re-release has since been moved.
