Cocktail 2 Box Office: Shahid Kapoor’s Romantic Comeback Shakes Up Bollywood With a ₹71.50 Crore Opening Weekend

Bollywood’s love triangle is back — and the audience has shown up, at least for the opening weekend. Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Homi Adajania, has wrapped its first three days at the worldwide box office, and the numbers are in. Let’s break it all down.

Cocktail 2 Worldwide Opening Weekend Box Office

The film grossed approximately Rs. 71.50 crore worldwide in its opening weekend, with Rs. 53 crore coming from domestic markets and the remaining Rs. 18.50 crore from international territories — led by the Middle East and North America. pinkvilla

How Strong Is This Opening, Really?

Honestly? Decent — but with an asterisk. The film is holding better than other recent releases in the romantic comedy space, but outside factors played a significant role in pushing the numbers. Without those external boosts, the collections would have been considerably lower.

The romantic comedy genre has historically been a reliable draw in Bollywood when backed by strong word-of-mouth — and that’s exactly where Cocktail 2 faces its biggest test.

The film received a mixed response from audiences, which could make weekday holds challenging. A superlative word-of-mouth would have painted a much brighter picture heading into the week.

What Happens Next?

The real verdict on Cocktail 2 will come from weekday collections. Romantic dramas with mixed reviews often see a sharp dip by Monday. The Rs. 100 crore mark in India remains achievable, but the film will need to hold surprisingly well to get there.
