OnePlus 16 Leak Roundup: OnePlus is quietly assembling what could be its most stacked flagship yet — and the leaks just keep getting juicier.
Just months out from launch, the OnePlus 16 rumour mill is in full swing — and this time, the leaks paint the picture of a phone built to dominate spec sheets while still keeping things practical. Here’s everything we know so far, organised so you don’t have to dig through ten Weibo posts.
Display: Smooth, But Maybe Not That Smooth
The OnePlus 16 may feature a BOE-supplied 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel equipped with a custom touch control IC and support for the BT.2020 colour gamut. Earlier leaks pointed to a 240Hz refresh rate, but the latest tip suggests a more grounded number. A new leak from tipster Smart Pikachu suggests the final refresh rate may be slightly lower but still significantly higher than most flagship smartphones currently available.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Resolution | 1.5K |
| Refresh Rate | 185Hz (flat panel) |
| Panel | BOE X5 LTPO OLED |
| Bezels | Ultra-narrow (<1mm) |
| Colour Gamut | BT.2020 |

Camera: Two Possible Configurations
This is where the leaks genuinely conflict, so OnePlus may still be finalising hardware. A new leak from Digital Chat Station suggests the OnePlus 16 could feature a 200MP main camera, 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and 50MP ultrawide camera — contradicting earlier reports that claimed the phone would use a 50MP main camera alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto lens.
| Configuration A | Configuration B |
|---|---|
| 200MP HP5 OIS main | 50MP main (Sony 1/1.4″) |
| 50MP JN5 ultrawide | 50MP ultrawide |
| 50MP JN5 periscope telephoto | 200MP HP5 periscope telephoto |
The 200MP periscope option is reportedly based on a 1/1.56-inch sensor — quite a step up from the 50MP telephoto sensor used on the OnePlus 15.
Performance & Battery: The Real Headline
Digital Chat Station has revealed that the OnePlus 16 will feature a chipset with the codename SM8975, reportedly belonging to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro — expected to be a 2 nm-based chipset that may achieve a 5 GHz clock speed and support LPDDR6 RAM, compared to LPDDR5X on the Gen 5.
Expected specs include a 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging and IP68/IP69 durability. That’s a huge jump up from 7,300mAh on the OnePlus 15.

Launch Window
OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 16 in Q4 2026.
The Bottom Line
Whether OnePlus settles on the 200MP main or 200MP periscope camera setup, one thing’s clear: the OnePlus 16 is shaping up to be a battery and performance monster with a genuinely premium display. The 185Hz panel might disappoint refresh-rate purists hoping for 240Hz, but with a 2nm chip and 9000mAh battery, this could be OnePlus’s most complete flagship yet. Stay tuned as more leaks (and hopefully clarity on the camera setup) roll in.
