The wait to know the official title of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s much-anticipated collaboration is over — and the answer has come from the most credible source possible: the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The censor certificate for the upcoming first-look video carries the title “Glimpse of Dragon”, all but confirming that NTRNeel is officially titled Dragon.

And here’s the kicker — that glimpse clocks in at a whopping 4 minutes and 35 seconds. This isn’t a teaser, it’s a full-blown cinematic statement.

Why May 20 Is a Big Deal for NTR Fans

The first glimpse of Dragon drops on May 20, 2026 — Jr NTR’s birthday — at midnight. That alone would be enough to send the fandom into a frenzy. But there’s more: the same day is also expected to bring announcements around God of War and possibly Devara 2, making it a blockbuster update day for Telugu cinema fans. Keep an eye on our South Indian film updates at Technosports to catch all the announcements live.

The Cast Drama: Tovino Out, Shahid Kapoor In Talks

One of the more intriguing subplots around Dragon is the villain casting. Tovino Thomas was originally set to play the primary antagonist, but the Malayalam star stepped away due to prior commitments in his home industry. Reports now suggest that Shahid Kapoor is being considered as his replacement — though no official confirmation has been made. It’s a fascinating mix of industries that reflects the pan-India ambition of this project.

The Telugu film industry has consistently produced some of India’s biggest pan-India spectacles in recent years, and Dragon — backed by the Prashanth Neel–Jr NTR combination — is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2027.

Jr NTR’s Last Film

Before Dragon, Jr NTR was seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and part of the YRF Spy Universe. The film, which also starred Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor, is currently streaming on Netflix.
