Neymar to sign PSG contract in the next few days; Kylian Mbappe could end up staying

Now that the Super League fiasco is pretty much behind us, expect Neymar to sign a new contract with PSG in the next few days. The news comes from the ever reliable Fabrizio Romano, who talked about the contract renewal on the Here We Go podcast.

The winger has agreed on a salary worth €30 million per season for the next five years, and after winning the Super League war they will make a big announcement that they will keep the player. There were rumours that Neymar was unwilling to complete talks regarding a contract extension a few weeks ago but they were ultimately false.

PSG are in the semi finals of the Champions League once more, after reaching the final last time around. They knocked out the reigning champions Bayern Munich in the replay of the 19/20 final that took place in this year’s quarter finals, and have emerged as one of the favourites to win the cup. Given that things finally seem to be going their way, it could be Neymar and PSG’s year to finally get their hands on European silverware.

Switching gears, and moving to another PSG star, the club’s president is confident that Kylian Mbappe will stay beyond the summer. There has been interest from Real Madrid for a while now, but negotiations are still going on between the player and the Parisians.

How the Super League will have an impact on the transfer market is also something to consider when talking about big money targets of the likes of Mbappe. Whether or not Madrid will be able to afford the hefty transfer fees this summer after losing all that money is something that will only be answered when the transfer window opens.
