What Is Jab Talak All About?

The makers dropped the first look of the peppy track Jab Talak, giving a peek into the fun, love-soaked characters the star cast is playing — Shahid Kapoor as Kunal, Kriti Sanon as Ally, and Rashmika Mandanna as Diya. The clip opens with the teaser line “Summer just got hotter” before diving into the kind of energetic, feel-good chaos that Bollywood fans have been craving.

The video makes it clear that Cocktail 2 is a tale of friendship and love with a whole lot of madness in store for the audience. With Arijit Singh and Akasa lending their voices and Pritam Chakraborty behind the music, this is the kind of track that playlists will be built around this summer.

The Cocktail Legacy: What You Need to Know

Cocktail 2 is a spiritual sequel to the beloved 2012 romantic comedy Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. That film captured a generation with its honest portrayal of love, heartbreak, and modern relationships — and now Homi Adajania is back to bring that same magic to a new era and a completely fresh cast.

The film is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, with the screenplay penned by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. It’s a powerhouse creative team, and the early signs suggest they’ve assembled something genuinely special.

What’s Next After Cocktail 2?

The Cocktail 2 excitement doesn’t stop at the film itself. An insider has revealed that Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya 2 is already in development at Maddock Films, again starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, with Janhvi Kapoor joining the cast. The script is expected to be ready by August 2026, with filming likely in early 2027 — though much will depend on how Cocktail 2 performs at the box office.
