Series Mania 2026: Top Series Awards Winners Include ‘R91,’ ‘Red Pants’ & ‘Chacachá!’

The series awards handed out at Series Mania 2026 have revealed three standout titles that the global TV industry is now watching closely. Held in Lille, France, this prestigious festival — one of Europe’s most important platforms for international television — crowned winners across multiple industry categories, signalling where prestige drama is heading next. If you follow netflix’s lord series announcements and global OTT trends, these winners matter.

Why Series Mania Series Awards Carry Real Weight

Series Mania isn’t just a festival. It’s the deal-making engine of European television, where broadcasters, streamers, and producers come together to buy, sell, and co-produce content. The industry prizes handed out here carry genuine commercial weight — a win often accelerates international distribution deals in a major way.

The 2026 edition ran in Lille through mid-March. According to Variety, this year’s series awards spotlighted bold, culturally specific storytelling from across Europe and Latin America.

The 3 Series Awards Winners Explained

Three titles dominated the industry recognition this year:

• ‘R91’ — A high-concept drama that earned strong jury praise for its narrative ambition and production design.
• ‘Red Pants’ — A character-driven series recognised for its sharp writing and emotional authenticity.
• ‘Chacachá!’ — A Latin American production celebrated for its cultural vibrancy and cross-border appeal.

Each of these winners represents a distinct storytelling tradition. Much like the unchosen netflix series model of backing unconventional voices, Series Mania consistently rewards projects that defy mainstream formulas.

What These Signal for Global TV

Here’s the thing: do festival wins translate into streaming deals? Historically, they do. Series Mania alumni have landed on Netflix, HBO, and Amazon within 12 months of winning.

‘Chacachá!’ in particular positions Latin American television as a serious creative force — a trend you’re already seeing in the creator emily series wave of internationally produced romantic dramas gaining traction on major platforms.

For Indian audiences, this matters. As Indian OTT platforms aggressively co-produce with European and Latin American partners, understanding which series earn industry recognition helps predict what shows up on your home screen next.
