MSI’s Summit E13 and E16 flip laptops to feature Tiger Lake-U CPU and preferably RTX 3050 GPU

In the latest news, we received information that the Summit laptop series from MSI will now feature Intel’s 11th Generation Tiger Lake-U processors. We have two models under the Summit series, namely the E13 and E16, and from the release notes we found that the E13 comes with certification under Intel’s Evo program, however, the E16 is not Evo certified.

Both the models come with a 360-degree hinge and CNC-cut aluminum chassis along with the 16:10 aspect ratio for the screen. The premium laptop not only supports 360-degree rotation but also features touch input along with the bundled MSI Pen.

For connectivity, the Summit E13 and E16 feature a PCI Gen4 interface as well as a Thunderbolt 4 connector. Both the Summit laptops come with built-in WiFi-6E support and MSI has equipped Summit laptops with a physical webcam switch.

According to the OEM, the MSI Summit E-series laptops will offer up to 20 hours of battery life as well as PD20V fast charging, using which a 15 minutes charge can extend battery life up to 2.5 hours.

As of now, MSI confirmed that both laptops will feature up to Core i7 Intel Tiger Lake-U CPUs, as to which model of the CPUs will be hosted is not yet clear. Coming to graphics, the E13 relies on an integrated Iris Xe Graphics while the E16 offers Iris as well as discrete ‘Next-Gen NVIDIA GeForce RTX Series Graphics’.

And we expect the machine to host the upcoming GeForce RTX 3050 series, the Ampere-based Laptop GPU for entry-level laptops from Nvidia.

The pricing and availability of the Summit laptops have not been confirmed by MSI as of yet, but they are expected to come right after the announcement of  NVIDIA’s RTX 3050 series GPUs.

The boost clock (2617 MHz) of the RTX 5080 is higher than the RTX 5090 and even higher on the custom editions from NVIDIA's board partners. The availability, however, is the main question as NVIDIA themselves have stated that both the GeForce RTX 5090 & RTX 5080 will be short in supply, and they are expecting a huge demand for these next-gen gaming solutions. Several retailers have also stated that they will have limited GPU stock which will only be replenished in the coming weeks
