Quest 2 will start receiving functionality updates from next-month

Facebook is not only the world’s leading social media company but is also at the forefront of developing smart AI solutions and augmented reality peripherals. The company announced recently that its Oculus Quest headsets will start supporting multiple users and the users will also be able to set secondary accounts on their headset device.

Users can use it to allow other people to log in and access content shared by the primary user while maintaining separate save data and achievements. Facebook in its announcement regarding the device stated that users can add three secondary accounts and share apps on a single device.

Oculus Quest 2 now available at ₹ 48,990 on Amazon Grand Gaming Days

Facebook even states that users will be able to share purchases across three headsets; the company may also adjust these parameters based on feedback. Apps will be automatically opted-in to the sharing functionality, but developers can opt-out before February 12th.

As far as security and privacy are concerned many users have raised their concerns regarding the privacy policy and account requirements of the Quest 2. As usual, the device will require secondary account users to log in with a Facebook account of their own. For households that already have multiple Quest users, though, the features should make life easier.

Next month the social media giant plans on releasing the functionality of the Quest 2 in experimental form, meaning you can switch it on with a toggle in the settings menu before it gets released to all Quest headsets, including the original model.

Let’s see what changes the social media giant will bring to its headset.
