Mario Lemina joins Wolves from Nice as spending spree continues: Sarabia and Joao Gomes next

Wolves have been one of the most active clubs in the January transfer window across Europe. They have completed the signing of Mario Lemina from Nice, and have officially announced his arrival from the French side.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Midlands club. An option to extend his deal for another year has also been included, which can be triggered in the future. The defender could feature in their game against West Ham United this weekend if the paperwork is completed for his move in time.

Mario Lemina joins Wolves from Nice – more new players to follow

“He has to be a very complete player, with and without the ball. I think without the ball he’s a very strong player, and he knows his job,” Wolves head coach Julen Lopetegui told the club’s official website.

“With the ball, he has enough technically to play and to understand the play.

“Of course, we have never worked together, but now I’m going to know more about him and he has to know about us.”

Mario Lemina will be followed by Joao Gomes of Palmeiras. Wolves have reached an agreement with Flamengo for the player, in a deal worth €17 million. Gomes has agreed to sign a five-year deal with the Premier League club until 2028, and his arrival will also be made official very soon.

Once the documents are ready to be signed, he will fly to England to complete the medical and be presented as a new player for Wolves.

Pablo Sarabia of PSG is expected to be the next big signing for the team, with a €5 million plus add-ons deal in place to sign the winger. The winger has found it hard for regular game time to come by, and will take up a new challenge under Julen Lopetegui in the Premier League once the formalities have been completed.
