Is India really prepared for the ICC T20 World Cup?

In the recently concluded Australia and South Africa T20 series, India won both by 2-1. while it may act as a huge confidence booster for the team before the t20 World Cup but the team is facing some serious fitness and form issues. Jasprit Bumrah’s recent injury can prove to be a major setback and the death-over bowling is a huge concern.

Virat Kohli got back to his vintage form, and KL Rahul and skipper Rohit Sharma have supported the team well during these two series.

If the side desires to win, they need to be brilliant in all three departments.

If Jasprit Bumrah is ruled out, Mohammad Shami or Deepak Chahar or Mohammad Siraj will be his substitute. However, there’s no right replacement for Hardik Pandya and if he gets injured in the midway, it will be a disastrous situation for the team and the management.

The team needs to improve its death over bowling as in Asia Cup, T20 series of Australia and South Africa Indian bowlers leaked a lot of runs in the death overs. Yuzvendra Chahal has been leaking a lot of runs in Asia Cup and the Australia series.

Rishabh Pant who’s the middle-order batter couldn’t make a mark this year so far. Dinesh Kartik’s performance has been way better and is to be preferred over Rishabh Pant.

Overall, India’s performance in T20 this year has been a good one apart from the Asia Cup where the men in blue got eliminated in the Super 4 stage.

India started the year with 3-0 victories against Sri Lanka and West Indies in February. After IPL, the men in blue had a tough time as South Africa managed to win a series with a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

India won the T20I series in July with a 2-1 lead against England. Next, the team played against West Indies and won 4-1.

In 2022, Rohit Sharma and Co. played a total of 32 T20Is against nine teams out of which they won 23 games and lost eight matches, one ending with a no result.
