West Ham United agree Gianluca Scamacca signing with Sassuolo for €36m

West Ham United are close to signing Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, according to Fabrizio Romano. The two clubs have reached an agreement over a €36 million fee plus €6 million in add-ons.

The Serie A side have added a 10% sell-on clause in his contract. This means that they will receive the agreed percentage of any future sale.

Gianluca Scamacca to join West Ham United as their new striker

Personal terms between the player and West Ham United are close to being agreed, and will be finalised in the coming days. Once that happens, the move is all set to go through and should be completed in the next few days.

The Hammers were close to signing Chelsea academy product Armando Broja on a permanent deal. They had made an offer worth €30 million for the player, but the deal is now off. The arrival of Gianluca Scamacca means that they will have support alongside Michail Antonio up-front. As a result, they don’t need to sign the Albanian.

Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing the Italy international before West Ham. However, they were unwilling to pay the €50 million fee asked for by the Neroverdi. And now, the Premier League side have swooped in to sign him.

Scamacca scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season, and will be a major goal threat under David Moyes if he can replicate his form in England.
