Lightyear 0 is the first production-ready solar-powered EV with an impressive range of 625 KM

The era of electric vehicles has begun, and while there are multiple players in this space, none of them come close to achieving or matching what the Lightyear 0 has to offer. The car is one of a kind with its unique solar-panel technology and its radical design. The Lightyear 0, is the world’s first production-ready solar-powered vehicle.

The Lightyear 0’s body is made out of sustainable and recycled materials:

The latest solar-powered car arrives with a modern and futuristic design language. It has a classic fastback-style body with aero alloy wheels, a raised bumper section, and an LED bar on the rear. The rear wheel features an ‘aero cover’ which adds nearly 12 KM of extra range per charge. Due to the aerodynamic design of this four-door EV, it has a draft coefficient of 0.19. It has a solar roof and bonnet, that is made from nearly ‘five square meters of double-curved solar arrays.’

In addition to this, the car uses sustainable and recycled materials for its interior such as plant-based leather and fabrics made out of plastic bottles. The minimalist cabin features a digital driver display along with a sizeable infotainment touchscreen.

The car gets four independent in-wheel motors for improved traction, which makes it an all-wheel-drive EV. The solar panels offer a range of 70KM maximum per day. It has a solar yield of 11,000 KM in regions with bright sunlight annually. The production of the Lightyear 0 will begin this fall, followed by the commencement of deliveries in November 2022.
