ISL: 3 talking points as ATK Mohun Bagan and Chennaiyin FC play out 1-1 draw

Chennaiyin FC and ATK Mohun Bagan played out a 1-1 draw to share a point each in the ISL. Here are the three talking points from the game of two halves.

Tough run for ATK

ATK Mohun Bagan have only picked up one point from their last three games. This is arguably their worst run, after losing consecutive games for the first time against Mumbai and Jamshedpur.

The Mariners are now out of the top four with five games played, and will need to find a way to get their momentum back. The competition is unrelenting as of this point in the season.

Could Chennaiyin FC have won it?

Chennaiyin FC played a much better second half, after being dominated by the Maroon and Red club in the first period. They created much more chances in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net despite having the majority of possession.

Looking back, they will be content with the result but could have easily picked up three points with an eye for goal.

Thapa continues to impress

Anirudh Thapa was named the man of the match for his display in the game against ATKMB. The Chennaiyin FC captain continues to be one of the pillars of the team and helped his team stay in the game until the very end.

With his performances, he could be the next big name to play for the Indian national team.

Chennaiyin take on league leaders Mumbai City FC in their next game while ATK Mohun Bagan will battle Bengaluru FC.
