Top 5 youngsters to watch at the under-21 European Championships

The knockout stages of the Under-21 European Championships are now underway. And we have Spain, Croatia, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Denmark and Portugal competing for the title. Among them, here are the five best talents you need to keep an eye on. 

Antonio Blanco (Spain)

A Real Madrid academy graduate, Blanco was added to the Spain squad following the group stages due to his performances in the club season. The 20-year-old midfielder is hailed as the future of Los Blancos and is a talent to be watched in the years to come.

Following in the footsteps of fellow Leverkusen academy graduate Kai Havertz, Wirtz is an unbelievably talented attacking midfielder. He is the youngest player to make his debut and score in the Bundesliga, and at 18, has a long way to go ahead.

Myron Boadu (Netherlands) 

Boadu features for AZ Alkmaar and on an average, scores a goal a game. He made his debut at 17, and is an exceptionally fast and clinical finisher. He has already made his debut for the Dutch first team, but is starting in the under-21 format this time around. 

Rafael Leao (Portugal)

The AC Milan forward, much like Boadu, is fast and clinical. He scored 6 times this past season and starred as the Rossoneri returned to the Champions League after 8 seasons away.

He has already been courted by the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid despite being a teenager and is set to be an absolutely sensational player going forward.
