At the end of 2020, we are here with some different controversies of this year regarding some games and streamers. We have selected the top 5 topics for the biggest controversies.
1. Aggressive anti-cheat system of Valorant
This year Riot has released Valorant, which was a big hit of 2020. This game came up with an anti-cheat system named ‘Vanguard’. It seems so aggressive that it requires kernel-level access and runs at Windows startup.
There you’ll get an option to disable the Vanguard but when you are going to play the game, before launching the game you need to enable the Vanguard again. The thing is, the constant collection of feedback from the players shows that the number of cheaters in the game is much less than in Warzone and other shooting games.
2. Less aggressive anti-cheat system of Call of Duty: Warzone
Cheaters are a big issue for any competitive game, but it looks like the scenario was exceptionally bad this year for Warzone. Activision didn’t expect that many cheaters in the game. The team has banned 20,000 players in September.
The situation forced me to ask the players, “please” not to use cheat software. Players were turning invisible, infinite stim glitch and many other problems are still a part of this game.
3. The launch of Cyberpunk 2077
Firstly the game was set to be released in early 2020, but then it was delayed and released finally on December 10. The game gained a chunk of positive reviews after the launch but slowly it seems in many situations the game lacked proper warning. Another point is, it contains a lot of bugs, still after the day one patch.
Sony has declared a refund of cyberpunk 2077 for their customer satisfaction. Following that, Microsoft has also offered a refund. CD Projekt came in the front and apologized multiple times for this faulty launch.
4. Twitch banned Dr Disrespect
‘Controversial streamer’ Dr Disrespect has been permanently banned from Twitch in 2020. He has claimed that he has no idea about what reason is there behind the ban. Also, there was no declaration from Twitch about this ban.
Dr Disrespect as known as Guy Beahm had said in an interview with PC Gamer about the reason for the ban, “Honestly, I don’t know.” Now he streams on YouTube. On his first comeback stream, he said, “We didn’t do anything to warrant a ban.”
5. File size of Call of Duty
The common comment in maximum reviews you can see is, ‘Warzone is very big’ & ‘Modern Warfare is very big’. These two need 200GB in all together and if you include Cold War it crosses over 292GB.
But this size is not restricting the gamers, they are happy with the contents of the game.
