Apple rumored to be working on a 64-core M1 chipset

Apple released its 5nm ARM-based silicon called the M1 chip, and it shook the silicon industries to its core. With the company dominating in the mobile processor performance segment, Apple’s M1 chips have already won hearts with their performance and power optimization features.

A recent leak indicates that the Cupertino giant might be working on the new 64-core part of the M1 chips and it has us pretty excited. However, it’s better not to expect too much, because the same leaker also indicates that we won’t be seeing the product make its way to Mac devices anytime soon.

Earlier reports indicate that Apple is not only working on a 32-core model for M1 but is also developing its graphical solution to cut-off its dependency on AMD. And not only that, but the company is also in the works to develop its cellular modem to get less dependent on Qualcomm. Apple is going full Rambo mode, guys.

According to sources, the new 64-core Apple Silicon may be provided alongside the new 32-core Mac Pro. But if the performance of M1 is any indication then a 32-core chip will be more than sufficient and a 64-core will be an over-kill.

The performance of Apple’s silicon has been praised by many in the tech industry, and whether the rumors about Apple developing a 64-core chip is valid or not is still unclear. But one thing is certain, that the upcoming silicon model from the Cupertino based tech giant will be mind-blowing.
