Cricket history has been made as 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes the youngest player ever to feature in an IPL auction list. Among the 574 players vying for spots in IPL 2025, this young batting sensation from Bihar stands out as a symbol of Indian cricket’s bright future.

As the IPL 2025 mega auction approaches in Jeddah on November 24-25, all eyes will be on this young prodigy. Whether or not he secures a contract, Suryavanshi’s inclusion in the auction list at such a young age marks him as one of Indian cricket’s most intriguing prospects for the future.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Early Career Milestones

Despite his tender age, Suryavanshi has already achieved what many cricketers dream of. His First-Class debut for Bihar in January 2024 marked him as a special talent, but it was his century against Australia in the U19 Youth Test series that truly announced his arrival on the bigger stage. Listed at 491st position in the uncapped batter category (UBA9), he represents a bold new direction in talent scouting.

Beyond Statistics

While his First-Class numbers might seem modest – 100 runs from 10 innings across five matches – it’s his temperament and technical prowess that have caught the attention of cricket experts. His highest score of 41 in First-Class cricket tells only part of the story; it’s his potential and maturity beyond his years that make him a fascinating prospect.

Future Prospects

Currently preparing for the U19 Asia Cup, where India faces Pakistan in their opening match on November 30, Suryavanshi continues to develop his skills. His inclusion in the IPL auction list suggests that franchises are willing to invest in raw talent with long-term potential.
