Instagram has introduced ‘1 Minute Music,’ which is a collection of clips from different songs and folks that are available for use on Instagram Reels or stories. Instagram has included music from over 200 local Indian artists so that their user base can relate better and are encouraged to use this feature.
Instagram ‘1 minute music’ aims to further fuel the popularity of reels:
Reels are arguably one of the biggest features that the social media platform has come out with, this new feature aims to further increase the popularity and at the same time inspire their users to showcase their talents as well.
Hindi artists like Dhvani Bhanushali, Neeti Mohan, Shaan, and Punjabi artists such as Jassie Gill, Himashi Khurana, and Gurnam Bhullar’s music will be available. Even the south gets adequate representation from Tamil artists such as Anirudh, Sivaangi, and GV Prakash Kumar.
The music will also feature videos, which will be exclusive to the platform. In the past two weeks, music from Himanshi Khurana, Kaur B, and Gurnazar Chattha has already made its way to the app.
Music distribution and artist services company, Believe, has worked closely with Instagram for this association. As per Vivek Raina, MD of the music company, “Reels is a core part of our plans, as we look to engage audiences for our artists, and immerse their songs in pop culture. I’m glad Instagram’s seeing this artist’s behavior and innovating with #1MinMusic- which is a very relevant, new-age genre of music today. We hope this provides the structure for artists, emerging and established, to understand the way they need to think about short-form video. We’re glad to have worked with Instagram on this.”
The newest feature will be available for users to use within the Reels audio gallery. As per Paras Sharma, Director, Content & Community Partnerships, Meta India, “Music is a catalyst for trends on Instagram today. In fact, Reels is becoming the platform for people to discover music and artists too. With ‘1 Minute Music,’ we’re now giving people access to an exclusive set of tracks they could use to make their reels more entertaining. We’re also hoping this platform serves as a paradigm for established and emerging artists to share their own music and create their own videos, all on Reels.”
